  • Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 Windows 8 brought the "new" Start screen, and removed the Start button. Also, with Windows 8 you have to purchase Media Center, and the Pro Pack as add-ons if your PC did not come with them. Windows 8.1 Update 1 replaced the Start button, and added a shutdown and a search button to the Start screen.

  • Windows 10 Windows 10 changed many things that initially came in Windows 8.1 and added many more new features. It came with a new Start menu and browser, it did not make you run apps in full screen, and it came with TONS of new apps. Windows 10 is one of three parts of the Unified Windows Platform.
